Barelang Bridge, Riau Islands

Barelang Bridge (abbreviation of Batam, eccentric, and Galang) is the name of the bridge connecting the islands of the Riau archipelago. Connecting the bridge is the island of Batam Island, Tonton, Nipah Island, Rempang island, Galang Island and Pulau Galang Baru. Local people call it "Bridge Barelang", but some are called "Bridge Habibie", because the bridge was initiated by Habibie. Construction of this bridge is used to facilitate the three islands that are designed to be developed into industrial areas in the Riau Islands. All three islands that now includes the Riau Islands Province.


The six pieces Barelang bridge consists of:

1. Tengku Fisabilillah Bridge (Bridge I), the largest bridge
2. Nara Lion Bridge (Bridge II)
3. Raja Ali Haji Bridge (bridge III)
4. Sultan Zainal Abidin Bridge (Bridge IV)
5. Bridge Tuanku Tambusai (bridge V)
6. Kecik King Bridge (bridge VI)
